Badge of Honored Employee of the Office of Public Prosecution, 1981-1991.

In silver plated brass, brass gilt and enamel. Massive riveted 3-piece construction; measures 44.5 mm tall, 30.4 mm wide and over 7 mm thick (not counting the screw post base and screw post). Raised logo of the Leningrad Mint to the reverse. Unlike some others we've encountered, this piece does not have a serial number on the reverse - this is possibly a very late issue or unissued example.

In excellent condition. The enamel is perfect. There is a tiny amount of tarnish on the state emblem that only adds character whereas the original gilt finish is still very nicely preserved. The screw post is full length, 9 mm measured from the reverse of the badge. Comes with original Leningrad Mint screw plate.

Equivalent of the highest awards in the other areas of law enforcement such as badges of Honored State Security employee or Honored MVD employee, this decoration was bestowed on just roughly 1500 people over its 10 year life span.
