Brass gilt, enamels. The main portion measures 37.3 mm tall not including the pendant, 28.6 mm wide. The upper part is of very complex, five piece construction. An exceptionally well made badge.
In outstanding, excellent condition. The enamels is practically pristine and shows beautiful luster, free of even microscopic contact marks. The gilt finish is very bright. All parts of the badge are firmly attached. The screw post is full length, approx. 9.5 mm, and includes original screw plate. The box is complete with the internal pad and is in excellent condition

exterior and soiling to the bottom, otherwise perfect.
The badge was issued only during 1950-68 period. It was
awarded exclusively to foreign students at Soviet military
academies. Very uncommon and impressive award.
