The airplane of battalion commissar Nezhdanov attacked enemy ground targets and destroyed 5 tanks. In doing so, it was hit by enemy flak and was forced to crash land behind the German lines. The crew torched their wrecked airplane and prepared to die fighting, but eventually they were rescued because the other pilots of their unit kept strafing the enemy troops. While their fire kept the Germans from approaching the grounded airmen, another airplane piloted by a Lieutenant Struev executed a daring landing nearby and rescued the entire crew.

A fine example of storytelling with pictures! Clear graphics make this a poster that would display nicely in many different rooms in a collector's home.
