Bikini-clad Bathing Beauty, a rather daring Soviet porcelain figurine, Gorodnitsa Porcelain Factory, 1962-1970.

7" x 4" x 2 1/2" (178 x 102 x 64mm). Gold decoration applied over the glaze. Figure originally created as a nude - her swimsuit is not actually a part of the sculpture but completely fashioned of gold paint. Frankly, a female nude would have been a rather risqué subject for a post war Soviet artist!

Excellent condition.

There is something quite charming about the almost Las Vegas look of her suit. She would look appealing on either a woman's bureau or a gentleman's desk!

/trademark is #149 in Vol. l of "Marks on Soviet Porcelain, Faience, and Majolica, 1917-1991"
