Fedoskino Summer Troika lacquer plate from the Vishnyakov Workshop, circa 1880s-1890s.
8" diameter. Reverse shows vestiges of original 1880s-1890s trademark for V. O. Vishnyakov Workship with reproductions of award medals received by that firm. The only "medallic" profile still partially visible is that of Alexander III. Lip on reverse drilled for a cord that would enable plate to be hung on the wall.
Very good to excellent condition. A few minor scratches to the front that do not detract from the image.
Next to generic peasant scenes, views of troikas were probably the most popular images to appear on pre-Revolutionary lacquerware - both on items for export
