Unusually large 11 ¼ x 9 studio photo. Very sharp image. Of particular interest is the badge of a medical officer worn by the gentleman on the left. This badge was awarded only to medical officers with a Doctor's degree obtained at a Russian university or at the Imperial Medical Academy. There is a second uniformed officer in the back row holding his visor cap under his left arm.

Good condition. The absence of backing to the photo has contributed to wear and tear, especially in the right bottom corner.There is crumpling and a 3/4" tear in the upper right corner (The photo is actually too large for our scanner; we include a second photo of the damaged area along the bottom of the image.)

Interestingly, the names of some of the people in the photo are inscribed in pencil right on the surface of the print over or next to the image of the person being identified.
