Southern Army Group Veteran Medal, 1956-1991.
In brass and enamels, beautiful quality. The eyelet shows stamped mint mark "LMD" (Leningrad Mint). Raised oval mint mark "LMD" to the reverse of the suspension device.
Excellent, near mint condition. Comes with original screw plate showing Leningrad Mint logo. This is one of the last military badges of the Soviet period, introduced just as the USSR was about to crumble. The award was issued to career servicemen of the Soviet armies that had been deployed in Hungary, just as they were leaving for good. Note the Soviet and Hungarian flags in the center.
