Pamphlet poster with verses of political satire illustrated with six cartoons, circa 1942-1944.
The poster "Song About a Politzai" ("politzai" meaning a member of police force recruited by the Germans among local residents of an occupied territory) is an exciting sample of mass-produced propaganda posters appearing on walls and telegraph poles in occupied towns and villages and directed against collaborators. The text of the poem is crude and very well-tuned to the minds of its intended audience.
In excellent condition, shows minor wear to the edges only.
