Porcelain Polka Dot Sugar Bowl with Lid, by Dovbysh Factory, 1974-91.

Stands about 3 ½" tall to the tip of the handle on the lid, 4 ¾" across at the lip, 2 ½" wide foot. Somewhat uncommonly, only the lid has the polka dots. They are red on white background while the bowl is just solid red, creating a nice cheerful juxtaposition of the dominant colors. Maker marked on the bottom. This version of the Dovbysh Porcelain Factory was in use from 1974 to 1991 (fig. # 209 in Volume One of Marks on Soviet Porcelain, Faience, and Majolica, 1917-1991 by Nasonova et al).

In excellent condition, showing no post-manufacturing wear or damage. The "2C" mark

In excellent condition, showing no post-manufacturing wear or damage. The "2C" mark under the factory logo is the Quality Control rating, suggesting some very minor production errors, e.g., overrun red on the lip or microscopic dark spots under the glaze. However, this level of detriment is so minor as to be quite insignificant and not detractive.
