Badge in Commemoration of the 15th Anniversary of Lenin's Death, 1939.

Copper, enamels, silver plating; 31.4 x 26.5 mm; weighs 8.6 g without the screw plate. Two-piece construction: the center medallion with Lenin's bas-relief portrait is a separate, superimposed part. Shows Lenin's Tomb at the top and red flags lowered in mourning on the sides.

In excellent condition. The red enamel is exceptionally well preserved, which is very uncommon for this badge: it exhibits a beautiful luster and is completely free of the usual hairlines, chips or flaking, having only a couple of minuscule contact marks that are nearly unnoticeable to the naked eye. The red enamel is exceptionally well preserved, which is very uncommon for this badge: it exhibits a beautiful luster and is completely free of the usual hairlines, chips or flaking, having only a couple of minuscule contact marks that are nearly unnoticeable to the naked eye. The black enamel in the letters is perfect. The details of the bas-relief portrait are very well-preserved and crisp, and some of the original silver plating is still present in its recessed areas.

The screw post is of full length, approx. 9.5 mm, and comes with an original period screw plate in nickel-plated magnetic steel, maker marked "Lenemalyer Factory". The threads of the screw are not too worn as is often the case, and the screw plate adheres to the screw fairly tightly.
