Medal for the Capture of Budapest, Variation 2 (U-shaped

Medal for the Capture of Budapest, Variation 2 (U-shaped
ring), 1940s - early 50s.
In brass; 32.2 mm wide. Excellent condition. There are no
visible dings or scratches; raised details of artwork and
lettering are perfect and extremely crisp on both sides. The
finish is nice and uniform, with good amount of original
"gilt" mint luster still clearly visible in recessed areas,
especially on the reverse and eyelet. There are a few small
blemishes on the reverse that do not really detract from the
overall appearance of the medal. Comes on original suspension
device in brass. The old ribbon shows modest amount of wear on
the edges but is still sound, clean and very attractive
overall (we will include a separate brand-new ribbon at no
extra charge at buyer's request.)
