Kiddush Cup by "GR", Kiev, 1899-1908.

In silver; stands approx. 52 mm tall, measures approx. 45 mm in diameter at the top, 28 mm at the bottom; weighs 27.0 g. Hand-engraved with floral and architectural motif in the traditional manner of Russian imperial-era Judaica. The bottom shows a Cyrillic maker mark ГР ("GR") of an unknown jewelry workshop and the early-style 84 silver hallmark (with Kokoshnik facing left) and initials "LO" of the Kiev assay inspector Lev Oleks.

Excellent condition. There are no scratches, dents or other significant wear of any kind. The upper edge is slightly uneven, but not to an extent that would make it very noticeable or detractive. The engraved artwork is perfectly preserved. There is a nice gradient to the toning on the inside: patina gets lighter towards the bottom of the cup where silver has been less exposed to air.
