In dark blue wool gabardine, with sky blue band. Features
early-style, relatively small crown. General's sweatband, in
real leather perforated to accept an adjustment ribbon. Gold
embroidery to the band, visor, and chin strap; embroidered
wings at the top. The sweat shield shows size 58 (about a US
size 7 ¼) and has an early version of the Moscow TsEP Factory
with a 1968 date of manufacture.
In outstanding, excellent condition. The hat has held its
original shape beautifully, has not been misshapen in storage
as is often the case. Moreover, it is completely free of any
moth damage - an extremely uncommon case for a Soviet hat of
1960s vintage made of wool. Both the exterior and interior are
immaculately clean. A superb example through and through -
literally impossible to upgrade.
