Ukrainian language German poster seeks volunteers to work in Germany.
Ukrainian language German poster seeks volunteers to work in Germany. Circa 1942-1943.
15 3/4" x 32 1/4" Three paneled poster shows Ukrainian guest worker being treated politely by a German factory owner, receiving hot meals from an attractive fraulein, and generally acting like a tourist while in Germany. Printed instructions on the right edge indicate that this poster was intended to be wrapped around something like a column in a building or pole on a street and then have its ends pasted together. ["Hier rechten teil aufkleben" or "stick right here".]
Very good to excellent condition.
One of the subliminal messages here is that working in Germany as a volunteer war worker would be a dignified and respectable thing to do. The reality was undoubtedly a whole lot different. A excellent example of Nazi propaganda at its (almost) most convincing.
