Certificate of taking the military oath issued to Colonel Iosif Sviridov (Иосиф Тимофеевич Свиридов), 1944.

Measures approx. 8" x 4", typed up on a piece of paper torn from a letter-size sheet. The certificate, dated 7 December 1944, confirms that Col. Sviridov took his military oath in February 1939.

That probably means that five years prior Iosif Sviridov joined the military and took his oath as a new conscript or officer school cadet. And now, mere five years later, he was a full colonel in the 8th Order of the Red Banner Order of Kutuzov Mechanized Corps of the 2nd Ukrainian Front. And for some reason, he needs to confirm that he did take his military oath.

In very good to exc

In very good to excellent condition. No significant wear, just mild creases at the top corners and an old fold line, long since flattened out.
