Armored Corps Officer Service Visor Hat, circa mid-1980s.
The crown is in olive drab gabardine with black velvet band and red piping. Includes original gold chin cord and correct officer's hat badge. The logo on the sweat shield is illegible due to wear but appears to be of the Odessa Headgear Factory, Ukrainian SSR. Stamped Size 57 on the liner (US size 7 1/8 / Medium). There is a factory quality control stamp to the underside of the sweat band. Interestingly, we found a sewing needle and some spare thread attached on the inside of the sweat band, as required by Soviet regulations!

In very good to excellent condition. The hat has retained its shape perfectly. The exterior is immaculately clean; there are no moth bites or
tracks. The black velvet shows a tiny amount of wear to the brim, nearly unnoticeable. The visor is free of significant scuffs. There are
sweat stains on and around the sweat shield. A nice, solid example overall.
