In outstanding, excellent condition. The enamel is perfect and shows beautiful luster, completely free of even microscopic scratches, contact marks or flakes. The original fire gilt finish on the hilt of the sword and numeral "60" is pristine and bright. The silver finish on the reverse of the badge is likewise perfect and shows an attractive dark patina. The screw post is full length, well over 9 mm, and includes the original screw plate with the Moscow Mint logo.

The badge was issued starting in 1977 as an official award to best KGB officers. For unknown reasons, the 60th Anniversary badge is more scarce than the earlier, 50th Anniversary badge.
