Medal for the Capture of Vienna, Variation 1, 1940s.

In brass; 32.1 mm wide. In outstanding, excellent condition. The details are perfect and extremely crisp, essentially pristine. There is very attractive light and even toning to the brass, while the original "gilt" mint luster is completely intact and bright throughout. Beside a few minuscule dings to the edge, the medal is almost completely free of visible wear.

Comes on original suspension device, a 1940s single-layer model in brass. The ribbon is old and shows wear, but it is still sound, free of stains and very attractive (nevertheless, we will provide a sufficient length of brand-new ribbon at no charge at buyer's request). Overall, this is truly superb example of the Capture of Vienna Medal - one of the best we've had in years.
