Screwback celluloid and plated brass Lapel Pin with Vyacheslav Molotov's printed photographic portrait, C mid to late 1930s.
17.3 mm in diameter, 4 mm thick. Portrait of Molotov, Soviet politician, diplomat and loyal supporter of Stalin. Printed photograph-based portrait appears on a convex celluloid surface inside of a silver plated screwback brass frame. Unmarked nut is not original to the badge but functions perfectly.
Very good condition even though there are a few crimp marks on the surface of the rim. The celluloid also shows some minor scratching but the portrait is still sharp and clear. The silver plating shows modest wear.
Typical example of mass-produced souvenirs popular during the years that lead up to WW 2. Molotov was one of the very few individuals permitted to become a public figure in his own right while Stalin was the leader of the USSR.
