In very fine condition. The medallion is free of edge knocks or nicks. There are some tiny dings and contact marks on the obverse, most of them barely noticeable or completely invisible to the naked eye. The raised details of the obverse are well-preserved and crisp, showing only a very mild wear to the high points of the artwork. The reverse has a bit more wear than the obverse, some small contact mark

There are some tiny dings and contact marks on the obverse, most of them barely noticeable or completely invisible to the naked eye. The raised details of the obverse are well-preserved and crisp, showing only a very mild wear to the high points of the artwork. The reverse has a bit more wear than the obverse, some small contact marks and light scratches, but the raised lettering is still very nicely defined. There is a somewhat uneven but attractive toning to the brass on both sides that adds character, no significant oxidation or major blemishes.

The medal comes on an original suspension, a WW2 two-layer model in steel with self-locking pin. The ribbon, albeit not of the same vintage as the medal itself, shows age while remaining sound and clean. The connecting link has been cut but appears to be of the period. Overall, a very nice example of the Stalingrad medal showing a lot of character while being free of significant flaws.
