The enamel is nicely preserved as well and shows an attractive luster; there are a few minuscule surface flakes at the tips of the arms, so tiny that they are nearly unnoticeable to the naked eye. The factory-applied dark finish on the rifle and sword is pale but still clearly visible. There are a couple of scratches on the reverse in the lower portion, neither too detractive nor affecting the legibility of the serial number. The screw post is full length, over 13 mm, and includes the original screw plate.
