General of the Army Andrey Yeremenko, printed document signed, 1954.

The booklet is approx. 3 ¼" x 2 ½", wrapped in nice quality red leather. The document is the photo ID issued to Yeremenko as a member of the Rostov-on-Don Regional Committee of the Communist party. The gold inscription on the cover reads, in its abbreviated form, "Rostov Regional Committee of the CPSU". The first internal page features Yeremenko's b/w ID photo and the seal of the Rostov Regional Committee of the CPSU, as well as Yeremenko's hand signature. Yeremenko is wearing his General of the Army uniform for the last year. In 1955, he was promoted to Marshal of the Soviet Union.

The second internal page specifies that this ID # 23 confirms that Yeremenko Andrey Ivanovich (the official Russian format: last name, first name, patronymic) is a member of the Rostov Regional Committee of the CPSU, elected by the VII Rostov Regional Party Conference. The document is hand-signed by the committee's Secretary Kiselyov.

In excellent condition, showing only minimal wear to the cover. The internal pages are pristine. The seal on the left was evidently inked too much, but is perfectly legible on the right-hand page.

Marshal Andrey Yeremenko (Андрей Иванович Еременко, 1892 - 1970) received the most important decorations of the USSR: three Orders of Suvorov 1st Class, the Order of Kutuzov 1st Class, the Gold Star Medal of Hero of the Soviet Union, five Orders of Lenin, the Order of the October Revolution, and four Red Banners. He also received thirteen Soviet medals and twenty foreign awards. During World War 2, he held commander positions of nine different fronts, including Moscow and Stalingrad. He received three wounds during the war, two of them serious enough that he spent long periods in hospital and frequently appeared in photographs using a cane. He helped liberate the Crimea, Latvia, Hungary, and Czechoslovakia from the Germans. During the Cold War, as a General of the Army, he held in succession the positions of Commander in Chief of the Carpathian Military District, Commander in Chief of the Western Siberian Military District, and Commander in Chief of the North Caucasus Military District before his promotion to Marshal of the Soviet Union in 1955.
