Government Postal Card Happy New Year with a wintery view of the Kremlin towers and fireworks, artist signed, 1969.

The size is continental 6" x 4". Postally unused, government postal marked, the pre-printed stamp has the image of two youths of Komsomol age and the Komsomol membership badge, one of the most widely-used government postal marks at the time. The back is divided, the artist's name, I. Filippov, is printed in the lower left-hand corner. Published by the USSR Ministry of Communications, circulation unknown.

The artwork is quite attractive, rather uncommonly painting the wintery background in black, gray, and white while the reddish Kremlin towers stand out in sharp contract.

In very good condition. There is no wear to the image, and the old vertical crease in the top left quadrant is more felt with your fingers than seen with your eyes. The verso shows a line of dried glue at the top right-hand corner, and a tear to the coating layer of the paper in the lower left-hand corner. Overall, the postcard is quite presentable and rather original in its color palette.
