The plaque is unmarked, but was certainly made by an artist of some renown because portraying the visages of Lenin or Stalin required a special license which was not awarded lightly.

In very good condition. The bronze paint coating shows a few small scuffs. They are too small to detract from the overall impression of this very large plaque but, if desired, a new coat of bronze paint can be a quick and easy fix for this. There are no visible nicks, scratches or any other wear or damage to the metal.

Based on the mounting holes, it is safe to assume that the plaque used to be mounted on a very sturdy and solid backing, probably a slab of granite, probably with some commemorative or propaganda text chiseled under the plaque. It was likely displayed in the foyer of a government, Communist Party, or law enforcement headquarters office.
