In good condition. The crown has kept its shape beautifully and is relatively well preserved. The napped olive drab fabric has a couple of very small moth bites at the top as well as some incidental nips and tracks to the nap that are noticeable only at very close inspection. The crimson band has several faint stains (possibly left by a splatter of some abrasive liquid) but the damage is not very conspicuous or detractive, at least at the normal viewing distance. The piping is completely intact and free of moth damage.

The visor is perfect, completely free of the usual scuffs and firmly attached. The interior of the hat is quite clean, having only a minor amount of sweat staining to the liner. The sweat band is still pliable and free of the usual soiling.

If you were assembling a WW 2 Soviet Army uniform display but have not been able thus far to acquire an actual wartime hat, this cap would make an excellent substitute!
