The shell is in light-weight olive drab cotton with minimal padding and grey cotton liner. Nickel-plated steel buckle. No maker mark or size stamp but will snugly fit an approx. size 7 ¼ size head (Russian size 58).

In near mint, apparently unissued condition, immaculately clean and showing only storage age. There are no condition issues such as soiling, tears, mildew, or musty odor. The finish of the buckle is perfect, free of rust.
