The writing and date are difficult to read under a regular light, but they are clearly legible under a UV "black" light. Size "56" is stamped in yellow on the liner (approx. US size 7 / Medium). There is a factory quality control stamp to the underside of the sweat band.

The hat is outstanding, excellent condition. It is completely free of the usual moth bites or tracks. Both exterior and interior are immaculately clean. Nice and firm, with saddle shape to the crown completely intact. The sweat diamond and band exhibit only the tiniest amount of wear, no damage of any kind. A relatively early issue of KGB hat, uncommon in such a perfect condition.
