Large Lithograph with Albert Einstein's portrait, artist's proof, circa 1970s-1980s.
Large format: approx. 23" x 20", the image is approx. 18 ½" x 16". This is an original artist's proof lithograph, hand-signed by the author in pencil, bottom right. The ink stamp on the reverse is that of the Fine Arts Salon of the Graphic Arts Committee of the Moscow Division of the Artistic Fund of the RSFSR where the lithograph was exhibited. Einstein is portrayed sitting down, deep in thought, the "cool" color palette emphasizing the calm meditative mood of the scientist.
In excellent condition. There are minuscule corner bumps to the paper but practically zero age toning. Ve

In excellent condition. There are minuscule corner bumps to the paper but practically zero age toning. Very faint traces of manhandling the paper are to be expected in an original work but they are almost nonexistent. The image is free of any blemish.
Unfortunately, we cannot provide our usual short bio note about the artist. The penciled inscription on the reverse identifies only his last name, Ильющенко (Ilyushchenko). There were at least two painters and graphic artists by that name during the Soviet era and we have no way of knowing which one authored this wonderful work of art.
