Ready for Labor and Defense badge, "TsIK" version, #293016, 1931-1936.

Silver plated brass, enamels; medallion measures 29.9 mm wide; the suspension device is 15.5 mm wide. The suspension has inscription "ЦИК СССР ВСФК" ("TsIK USSR VSFK", abbreviation for "All-Union Council of Physical Culture at the Central Executive Committee of the USSR"). The pendant is single-piece construction with stamped serial number near the bottom and impressed lettering "MonDvor" (State Mint). Unlike the other versions of badge, the pendant has no provision for a pin. The suspension chains are 26

In very fine to excellent condition. The obverse is exceptionally well preserved. The enamel fully retains its beautiful luster, shows none of the usual chips or flaking, and has only some microscopic contact marks completely invisible to the naked eye. The details are perfect and the silver plating is essentially pristine, with nice toning. The screw post is reduced in length and slightly bent, but it remains sound and its remaining length of approx. 7 mm is more than enough for proper functionality. The screw plate is of the period and fits well, although it is not original to the badge.

/This scarce, early variation is not shown in either the Avers 8 or Badges of Volunteer Societies of the USSR but it is similar to the more common badge shown in the Avers 8 (page 635 fig. 3359.f) and especially the Volunteer Societies book (p. 20, fig. 1.4)/.
