Silver gilt, enamels; the medallion measures 43.9 mm in height including the eyelet, 43.3 mm in width; weighs 30.3 g not including the suspension and connecting link. This first version of the order features four rivets on the reverse.

Excellent condition. The enamel is perfect, completely free of wear visible to the naked eye; there are only microscopic contact marks that are not easy to find even under 10x magnification. The center medallion details are pristine and extremely crisp. There silver edges of the star and starburst are likewise free of detectable wear. Some of the fragile original gilt finish on the starburst is still visible. The reverse has a single blemish that probably can be easily removed with a silver cleaning solution if desired and in our opinion, not detractive at any rate.

Comes on original suspension, a two-layer model in aluminum with beautifully preserved old ribbon. The connecting link appears to be original; its ends are still joined with solder. Overall, this is an outstanding example of the second-highest Soviet decoration.
