Medal for Restoration of the Ferrous Metallurgy of the South, late 1940s - early 50s.

In brass; 32.3 mm wide. In excellent condition. There are some microscopic dings, but the medal is practically free of wear visible to the unaided eye. The raised details are extremely well-preserved and crisp. Attractive even toning to the brass, free of significant blemishes or oxidation spots. Some of the original "gilt" mint luster is visible in recessed areas, especially on the reverse. The medal comes on original brass suspension device with perfectly preserved, immaculately clean old ribbon.
