This medal is one of the few MVD long service awards specific to a republic, issued for a short time in the early 60s when each republic in the Soviet Union had its own "independent" MVD. Only 5 republics including RSFSR actually issued the "republican" MVD medals although all 15 had their own MOOP medals after that, in 1962-66.
