In napped black wool with white piping. Characteristically
small, early style top. The cap tally reads "Order of the
Red Banner Baltic Fleet". Comes with correct WW2 type hat
badge in brass-plated steel and enamel. The liner shows
stamp of the Krasnyi Voin ("Red Warrior") Factory in Moscow
with a 1957 date of manufacture (the stamp is worn but still
mostly legible, especially under the black light.) Marked
size 55 (US Size 6 7/8, Small.) There are quality control
and inventory stamps on the inside of the sweat band, as
well as a hand-written name "Masayuk" - probably the name of
the original owner of the hat.
In very good to excellent condition. There are a few tiny
moth nips to the underside of the crown that are almost
unnoticeable, no other visible moth damage. The nap of the
black wool is nicely preserved; the white piping is perfect.
There is only minor amount of wear to the sweatband which
remains sound. Minimal dust to the liner, no significant
soiling or tears. Overall, this is a very attractive example
of beskozyrka of WW2 model.
