VLKSM Central Committee Medal (award badge) "To a Foremost Young Worker of Animal Farming", 1970s - early 1980s.
In brass with nickel plating. Riveted, two-piece construction medallion. Suspension device shows early style mint mark "MMD" (Moscow Mint) which indicates that the badge was manufactured no later than the early 80s. The badge was established in 1971 and awarded fairly sparingly, especially during the first ten years.
Excellent condition. There are a couple of light scratches to the silver finish and minor amount of mild tarnish to the brass on the bas-relief portraits of young farm workers, none of it really detractive.
