In black wool with white piping, "Navy" cap tally.
Excellent unissued condition, shows only storage age - no
damage or wear of any kind. Very uncommon cap tally which
reads Voenno-Morskoy Flot ("Navy") instead of the usual
identification of the fleet, flotilla or naval school. Cap
tallies of this type were usually worn by sailors on honor
guard detail, staff of the naval headquarters or other special
duties which meant that they reported directly to the central
command of the Soviet Navy. Sweat diamond shows logo of the
Zartnitsa Headgear Factory in Moscow. Quality control stamp to
the underside of the sweat band. Marked size 58 on the liner
(about US size 7¼).
Excellent unissued condition, shows just some storage age and
dust that will clean up nicely.
