Order of the Red Banner of Labor, Type 3, Variation 2, "jumbo" (aka "long oval"), #89330, with a document, awarded in 1949 to Zinaida Charntseva.

Order of the Red Banner of Labor, Type 3, Variation 2, "jumbo" (aka "long oval"), #89330, with a document, awarded in 1949 to Zinaida Charntseva.

Silver gilt, enamels. Measures 51.2 mm in height including the eyelet, 37.9 mm wide. Sub-variation featuring both words of the mint mark stamped by a single stamp. The mint mark is approx. 9 mm wide, in straight lines and has a dash of the last character in the word "Monetnyi". Currently known serial number range for this version is 78491 - 134621, according to Mondvor.narod.ru.

In outstanding, excellent condition. The enamel is practically perfect: the only trace of wear is a microscopic scratch on the star that is completely invisible without magnification. The fire gilt finish is beautifully preserved and bright. Comes on original two- layer suspension device in steel. The old, possibly original ribbon is likewise perfect and immaculately clean. The connecting link is original and has not been cut.

The order booklet was issued on 2 July 1949. The booklet contains a single entry for the Red Banner of Labor, no other awards. Unlike the later booklets, its format does not provide for exact date of the award decree. The decoration was undoubtedly bestowed earlier that year, probably during the previous couple of months.

The document is in near mint condition, a perfect match for the order. The impressed gold state emblem and writing on the cover are perfect and bright. Both the interior and exterior are pristine and immaculately clean. All-in-all perfect documented set from the Stalin era!
