Medal for the Capture of Koenigsberg, Variation 1, circa 1945 - 47.

In brass; 32.1 mm wide. In very fine to excellent condition. Both the obverse and reverse show almost no wear with the exception of a tiny, barely noticeable bump to the edge at approximately 7 o'clock position. The details are details are beautifully preserved and crisp on both sides. There is very attractive even toning to brass with some light blemishes in the upper portion on the obverse that are not too detractive and a couple of tiny spots on the reverse. The original "gilt" mint luster is clearly visible in recessed areas on both sides. Comes on an original WW2 suspension device, a two-layer steel model with self-locking pin. The ribbon is recent.
