Medal of Honored Machine Builder of RSFSR, 1981 - 1995.
In silver-plated and gilded brass, 29.2 mm wide. Late style
raised mint logo "LMD" (Leningrad Mint) to the reverse of
the suspension device. Unlike most similar medals of Honored
titles, the Machine-Builder's medal is of riveted two-piece
construction: the laurel branch is a separate superimposed
part. Interesting artwork incorporating a space rocket.
In excellent, near mint condition. The silver finish on the
medallion and gilt on the laurels are essentially pristine.
The old, probably original ribbon shows only mild wear, no
stains, tears or soiling.
The title of Honored Machine Builder of RSFSR was
established in 1978. The medal first appeared three years
later, in 1981. Relatively few were awarded.
