For Good Memory from the Soviet Armed Forces, Type 2, circa 1960s - 70s.

In brass, enamels and lacquer;42.3 x 28.9 mm. Features a tank, rockets and airplanes in the mid portion of the badge, with the larger red star showing profiles of Soviet pilot, sailor and infantry soldier.

In very fine condition. The turquoise enamel has a few tiny chips that are not immediately noticeable: near the left edge under the rocket and to the left of the tank, and around the airplane. Otherwise perfect, with attractive luster, perfectly preserved gilt finish and very little overall wear. The damage may well be manufacturing imperfections and does not affect the overall

The badge was issued to Warsaw Pact officers that took part in joint exercises and to members of foreign military delegations. The significance of its various types is unknown, but each was issued in relatively small numbers.
