"A Drop of Ilych's Blood", a one-page propaganda broadsheet, circa 1925-26, featuring a Russian language poem about Lenin. Published by the Leningrad Gublit.

Approximately 12 5/8" x 7 3/4". A poem, written soon after Lenin's death, talks about the inspiration he continues to give to every worker (a drop of his blood that everyone carries).

Good to very good condition. The text of the poem is sound and well preserved as is most of the ornate frame. There a few very shallow tears around the edge. The previous owner - perhaps blinded by grief by the untimely departure from this world of Vladimir Ilych - trimmed the sheet somewhat irregularly. That said, any good framer could easily create an attractive mat for this that would make it quite frameable!

Because of the reference to Volkhov hydroelectric dam completed in 1926, it is clear that the poem was written not later than that and the print itself dates to the same period. At the bottom is a quote from Lenin's speech at the IX Congress of the Communist Party of Russia.
